Welcome to the False Creek Community Centre!
I’m delighted to share some of the wonderful programs and events we have planned for Fall 2024.
We are excited to announce that we will be extending our pickleball court rentals in the Fall due to popular demand. Our spooktacular Halloween Howl event is back again this year with more scary surprises and fun to look forward to. We love to offer a variety of programs for everyone at False Creek. After a break for the Summer we are excited to welcome families back to our Parent & Tot Gym!
We had an exciting Spring and Summer Season. Our Waterfront programs returned, and it was great to so many people exploring False Creek by kayak or stand-up paddle board. Our Summer camps kept the centre busy with three different camps taking place. It was great to see so many children and youth having a fun summer at False Creek! A big thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Kick-Off Celebration on July 1st – what a great way to start off our Summer!
On October 3 we will host the Centre’s first All Candidates Meeting for the South Granville electoral district, ahead of the provincial election on October 19. This session will bring together our provincial candidates and provide an opportunity for voters and interested people to learn more about each candidate and help them make an informed choice when voting. Don’t forget to register early to ensure your spot!
Finally, I want to welcome five new board members to the FCCA: Graciela David, William Harper, John McCracken, Tom Oliver, and Howard Teasley. Their professional guidance and commitment, alongside our returning board and committee members, staff, and Vancouver Park Board partners, help us realize our vision of a happy, healthy, connected community. Many of us live, work, and have raised families in the False Creek and Fairview areas and we’re grateful and proud to call this area home. We’re always interested in hearing from our community – give us a call!
