The False Creek Community Centre is always looking for instructors to teach and lead recreational programs. We are looking for qualified, experienced instructors with good people skills. The False Creek Community Centre is seeking for certified Personal Trainers with a flexible schedule, good experience working with clients of all ages, highly organized with strong leadership skills.
Ocean Kayak/Canoe Instructors Needed (Casual)
The False Creek Community Centre is currently seeking dynamic, versatile and energetic individuals to deliver high quality introductory Ocean Kayak and/or Recreation Canoe courses to the general public in the heart of Vancouver.
You will be responsible for teaching ocean kayak and/or recreation canoe, solo and assisted capsize recovery sessions, basic maneuvering skills and boating safety. This is a casual position and flexibility is required as lessons are in the evenings and weekends. Hours of work per week are dependent on the waterfront program schedule and registration levels.
-Certification in either RCABC – Lakewater Canoeing Instructor and/or SKGABC Assistant Overnight Guide or Paddle Canada Basic Kayak Instructor.
-Current Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C.
-Strong communications skills.
-Extensive paddling experience with prior experience in leading recreational programs with a wide variety of ages is preferred.
-The successful applicant will be a personable, patient and an effective teacher.
