31st Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival

The winter solstice marks the longest, darkest night of the year. This dance of sun and earth has inspired celebrations of the human spirit throughout the ages, and our own Winter Solstice Lantern Festival illuminates the night with lanterns, singing, dancing, music and storytelling!

With over 100 programs to choose from, it’s easy to find your space at False Creek Community Centre. What do you love to do? Where do you want to go? Who do you want to be? The False Creek Community Centre‘s ongoing commitment to ensuring a balance of opportunities for people in False Creek/Fairview to participate in a wide variety of recreation activities began in 1980, and continues today.   • Winter Program registration
    starts Saturday, December 7 at 9 AM online/in-person and  11 AM by phone

Financial Assistance / Leisure Access Program (LAP)

Individuals and families requiring financial assistance may be eligible for subsidy through the Vancouver Park Board’s Leisure Access Program. Those with a valid leisure access card can receive up to 50% discount towards program and fitness centre fees (single admissions and monthly passes) at False Creek Community Centre. Refund Policy

All refund and program transfer requests must be made in person or by phone. Refund and program transfer requests within 24 hrs prior to the first class will result in a full refund/program transfer. Requests made after this and within 72 hrs prior to the third class will result in a prorated transfer or a prorated refund less a $5 admin fee.

Please note the following exceptions:

  • Special events, one day workshops, out trips, birthday parties, day camps and waterfront programs require 7 days’ notice for a full refund or program transfer.
  • All requests for pottery & tennis refunds or program transfers must be made 72 hrs prior to the first class.
  • No refunds or program transfers are provided after these deadlines without a medical note. Programs and fees are subject to change without notice.

Unavoidable class cancellations will be made up at the end of the session or refunded.  Receipts for the current session can be picked up at the centre or downloaded from your online account.  A fee of $30 will be charged for each un-cleared cheque payment.
