Welcome to False Creek Community Centre – we are delighted to share all our exciting programs and events we have planned for the Fall! We hope everyone had an enjoyable Summer and made the most of the sunshine. Our Summer camps kept the centre busy with three different camps taking place. It was great to see so many children and youth having a fun summer at False Creek! A big thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Kick-Off Celebration on June 27th – what a great way to start off our Summer! We had a fantastic summer here at False Creek and we are now looking forward to the Fall!
Our Halloween Howl event is back, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing costumes and spooktacular surprises – this event is not one you want to miss! Our parent and tot gym will also reopen in September, and we look forward to welcoming back all parents and their little ones. As we look towards year-end, be sure to keep an eye out for Santa at our Breakfast with Santa event in early December, followed by winter solstice celebrations on December 21!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our community engagement survey. We really learnt a lot from the results, and we are excited to continue working for the community and making the centre a better place for all community members.
On May 14th we had our Annual General Meeting where we elected new board members. I would like to welcome Charlotte Dron, Emmett Wallace, Paul Lemay, Tabitha McIntyre, Sharon Christie and Shira Standfield to the FCCA board of directors. Their professional guidance and commitment, alongside our returning board and committee members, staff, and Vancouver Park Board partners, help us realize our vision of a happy, healthy, connected community.
Many of us live, work, and have raised families in the False Creek and Fairview areas and we’re grateful and proud to call this area home.
