Open-Studio/Student Drop-in Sessions

Open studio and student drop-in sessions include access to studio tools, equipment, and firings. For those wanting storage, there will be shared cubbies available on a first-come first-serve basis for users to store one bag of clay each for the length of the season.
User eligibility is based on completion of one pottery course minimum at False Creek Community Centre within the past two years, along with instructor approval. If it has been more than 2 years since completing the course, users must attend a studio orientation prior to their first session (please see information below).
Student drop-in sessions are supervised. Only students currently enrolled in a False Creek pottery program will be permitted to drop-in during these times.

Studio Orientation

Studio orientations are intended for anyone who has used our studio in the past but may benefit from more information about safe studio guidelines and procedures. Orientations are only required for those who are looking to drop-in during open studio times but haven’t actively used the studio within the last two years. Orientations will cover proper use of all available tools and equipment, studio etiquette, rules and policies. Orientations are led by the Pottery Studio Manager and Technician. A cost of $20 applies per participant, with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 people per session.
