28th Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival (All Ages)
The winter solstice marks the gentle shift of our planet’s eternal relationship with the sun. This dance of sun and earth has inspired celebrations of the human spirit, expressed through art and music, throughout the ages. Our own Winter Solstice Lantern Festival illuminates the darkest night with a multicultural array of lanterns, fire, singing, dancing, music and storytelling. Please join us and add your special light to the longest night!
Pre-registration will be required for the performances this year. Vaccine Passports and government issued picture I.D. will need to be shown before entry to the indoor performances. Performance times TBD.

Drop-in Play Gym
Parent and Tot Gym (0-6 yrs)
This drop-in play program provides tots with physical play and supports social interaction for you and your child. Children jump in the bouncy castle, roll and climb on the mats, drive the toy cars, cook at the toy kitchen and jump start their day. Birthday Parties

Birthday Parties (2-8 yrs)
Bounce your way into your birthday with a party at False Creek Community Centre on Granville Island. Your party includes our bouncy castle, a decorated room, use of the kitchen refrigerator, and a party leader to set out play equipment or organize games to keep the party hoppin. Children arrive, have one hour in the gym, then go back to the party room for cake, food and drinks (brought by the participant). Cost is $159 for up to 20 children and includes general decorations for the birthday party room, plates, napkins and cutlery. Leader will contact you a week before your party to discuss the party details. Please phone the main office at 604-257-8195 or check our on-line registration for available dates. Please note that we have discontinued providing pizza for the party. The party parent may bring or order in food for the party. Please, absolutely no nuts.

Sportball Birthday Party (2-10 yrs)
Sportball offers high-energy, action-packed birthday parties for kids ranging in age from 2 – 10 years! Kids enjoy a variety of sports and supervised games in a fun, structured and safe environment; festivities finish off with a traditional birthday celebration. The kids will need to catch their breath before they blow out their candles! Parties include 60 minutes of activities followed by 60 minutes of birthday celebrations with the coach. Patrons are required to pay in full at the time of registration. Inclusions: Sportball leader, gymnasium, tables, chairs. Exclusions: decorations, table settings (plates, cutlery, cups, etc), snacks, food or beverages. Regular birthday party refund policy applies. Max. 15 kids with 1 coach, up to 20 kids with 2 coaches.

At Music Together® experience the joys of music-making and the powerful benefits of having music in your child’s life. Find out how important – and how much fun – your role can be! Our 9 award-winning music collections and research-based curriculum supports parents at home and keeps the music making alive all week. In our mixed age class, each child participates at their own level and their natural musicality is nurtured through singing, dancing, listening and watching the adults, and exploring musical instruments. The whole family is welcome – parents, grandparents, caregivers – for this important family music experience. 45 minutes of pure fun each week! Parent participation required. Babies understand and can communicate long before they are able to speak. Research shows that babies who learn Sign Language learn quicker and talk earlier. Using songs and games learn how to teach your baby basic American Sign Language (ASL) so they can better convey their wants and needs and relieve unnecessary frustration. Looking to have fun this spring break? This camp is perfect for youth who want to pack their break with fun by meeting new friends and going on daily out-trips: Granville Island Tourist, Science World, Cineplex Movie, Swimming and Indoor Mini Golf (schedule subject to change). Waiver forms and schedule will be emailed to participants and available at falsecreek.ca/youth at least 2 weeks prior to the camp start date and must be completed and returned by the 1st day of camp. In this Village Vancouver-Fairview False Creek South Neighbourhood Food Network workshop with Dr. Yael Stav, you’ll learn how to grow your own trays of microgreens at home year-round. We’ll look at the difference between sprouts and microgreens, review the many possible seeds that can be used for starting microgreens, and look into troubleshooting common problems.
