Baby Sign Language (0-2 yrs)
Babies understand and can communicate long before they are able to speak. Research shows that babies who learn Sign Language learn quicker and talk earlier. Using songs and games learn how to teach your baby basic American Sign Language (ASL) so they can better convey their wants and needs and relieve unnecessary frustration. The instructor will teach you the signs and songs so you can practice at home. Babies can sleep during class or you can bring some toys. Newborn-24 months. Free Easter Kits @ False Creek CC (3+ yrs)
Hoppy Easter! Although we may not be able to host an in-person egg hunt this year, the Easter Bunny wanted to give families a safe way to celebrate at home. Each Easter Kit comes with a craft, an activity sheet, a nature scavenger hunt (which can be completed in your own neighborhood or park) and a small prize. One kit per registered person. Must register by Friday, March 26 (8:00pm). Kits are available to all ages but most suitable for preschool ages (3+). Easter Kits are available for pick-up during hours of operation between March 29 to April 3 (Note: we are closed on Friday April 2). Please be mindful that this is a free kit with limited availability. Environmental Youth Crew (12-17 yrs)
The False Creek Community knows how beautiful of a city we live in and it is everyone’s job to ensure a sustainable future. Join the Environmental Youth Crew as we meet every Saturday morning for a community garbage clean-up. This program will take place outdoors rain or shine so please dress weather appropriate with closed-toe shoes! Any necessary materials will be supplied. There’s no more scenic way of giving back to Mother Nature while earning volunteering hours. (Masks are mandatory during the outdoor portion of this class when precise physical distancing cannot be measured.
