Social

After School Youth Cafe (9-13 yrs)
Join us in our lounge for the perfect way to decompress after school. Whether you feel like playing air hockey, video games, doing a craft, reading, talking with friends and staff or maybe getting some homework done, the goal will be to have fun! Each week will include an after school snack (snack schedule will be made available by the end of March).

The Breakfast Club (9-13 yrs)
Who says Friday nights should have all the fun? Come start your Saturday off right with a light breakfast and some friends! We’ll read or watch some classic cartoons and play games (group, video, board). Pajamas are welcome and reusable cups, plates & cutlery are encouraged! Light breakfast menu will change every week. Please inform the Youth Staff of any dietary restrictions and allergies. Parents can use this time to take advantage of Granville Island’s free parking until 11am and enjoy the Seawall or Granville Island Public Market just steps away!

Youth Leadership Youth Council (Jr.) (Grade 6-7)
Great communities are built with input from all! Come join this leadership group to give back to our False Creek neighborhood while gaining leadership skills and connecting with new people. Help plan activities for other youth, implement your own community projects, assist with special events and partake in a monthly community clean-up. Look no further for a fun way to achieve volunteer hours! *No program April 15*

Floor Hockey (9-13 yrs)
Calling all hockey fans and anyone who just wants to get moving! Each week starts with a warm-up drill followed by scrimmage time and a shoot out to finish. We have sticks, pucks and goggles for everyone but you are welcome to bring your own (goggles must be worn in order to participate)! Don’t forget your running shoes and water bottle! Please be mindful that this program is free and we have limited spots. If you are unable or no longer wanting to attend a session or the program, please call the centre in advance so we can offer the spot to another youth. If a participant does not attend the first 2 sessions of the program and the Youth Leader is not provided notice or reasoning for the absences, the participant may be withdrawn from the program to open up spots for other participants.

Friday Night Youth Lounge & Mini Gym (11-17 yrs)
Drop in for some Friday night fun in our mini gym & games room! We have video games, air hockey and a variety of sports equipment available (this is an unstructured program). Please note due to staff capacity, only one room will be open at a time and supervised by staff. Participants will meet in the mini gym at the start of the program and must sign in (name & emergency contact information) with the youth staff. If the program is at capacity, the youth will have to wait until space becomes available. *No session on April 15*

Youth Leadership Environmental Youth Crew (12-17 yrs)
The False Creek Community knows how beautiful of a city we live in and it is everyone’s job to ensure a sustainable future. Join the Environmental Youth Crew as we meet every Saturday morning for a community garbage clean-up. This program will take place outdoors rain or shine so please dress weather appropriate with closed-toe shoes! Any necessary materials will be supplied. There’s no more scenic way of giving back to Mother Nature while earning volunteering hours. Waiver-consent forms are located at the False Creek front desk, or from our website www.falsecreekcc.ca/youth

Youth Adventures: False Creek Summer Day Camp (11-15 yrs)
Looking to have fun this summer? This camp is perfect for youth who want to make the most of their summer break. Come enjoy a mix of exciting summer activities and out trips while making new friends! Schedule of weekly activities and out-trips and parental consent forms will be made available and posted on our website by early June. Waiver forms must be completed and returned by the 1st day of camp. Please pack a healthy lunch, snack and water and wear activity appropriate attire. Note: mode of transportation will include walking and public transit.
