Pottery Instructor $26/hour

Job Summary:
You will be responsible for leading and teaching a combination of pottery courses for Hand Building and/or Wheel Throwing. The Hand Building course is a basic introduction to pottery making in a fun studio environment. You will lead and instruct participants to create functional pottery using hand-building techniques. Wheel Throwing will allow participants to learn the art of wheel throwing. You will lead and demonstrate basic to advanced throwing skills and decorating and finishing techniques.

Qualifications:

• Relevant pottery experience as an instructor, teaching wheel throwing and/or hand building
• Knowledge and experience with operating and firing kilns is an asset
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a fun, safe and inclusive environment for all participants
• Understand and consistently perform all responsibilities associated with our safety protocols and program procedures
• Confirm all equipment and supplies are used is in appropriate working condition
• Lead and encourage participants with a high level of enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Plan structured course outline and time management
• Evaluate participants upon completion of courses to determine pottery membership access
• Other related duties
