It’s that time of year again! The days are getting shorter and the weather has changed, but False Creek Community Centre is open and we have so much to offer this winter! Our Parent and Tot gym is up and running and it is an excellent opportunity to socialize your tots and get to know other families in the community! At the Winter Solstice Lantern Festival, we have partnered with the Secret Lantern Society to illuminate the darkest night of the year.
Our programmers have been working hard to ensure we have programs available to suit all needs of the communities. From pottery to yoga to osteofit, there is something for everyone. For the youth in the community, we have a great schedule of activities at the Friday Night Live Funtivities! From swimming to Ice Skating to an epic karaoke dance battle, winter Friday nights are not to be missed.
We also have some availability in our licensed outdoor preschool, the first licensed outdoor preschool in Vancouver! It’s an excellent opportunity for your 3-5 year olds to get outside and enjoy nature.
Are you interested in getting involved in your community? Join our Board of Directors. If you are interested in running for election, you can submit an expression of interest two months before our Annual General Meeting in April. The Board of Directors deals with all matters of concern to the Community Centre and is responsible for arranging recreation programs to suit the needs of the False Creek Community. Please feel free to get in contact with me if you have any questions. We would love to see new faces join the board.
