Though the hot and sunny weather of summer is winding down, the cool temperatures of autumn bring with it a new opportunity for growth and adventure. This beautiful weather will still be with us for another 6 weeks before it turns quickly into endless rain, so why not sign up for some tennis lessons or learn to paddle a dragonboat! Both sports are not only great exercise; they are a wonderful way to meet new friends. Of course, there are lots of programs on offer inside the centre as well. From martial arts to Zumba, there is something for everyone. If you would like to try something more creative, the pottery studio at False Creek is a hidden gem and – once you have completed a pottery course or an orientation – you can take out a pottery studio membership and use the space when it is not in use for classes.

As always, there are lots of programs for kids – as well as loads of activities for families. Parent & Tot programs continue to be very popular and are a fabulous opportunity to socialize with other families in the neighborhood. Our ever-popular annual community winter events, including Breakfast with Santa and The Winter Solstice Lantern Festival will be back this year. There is also the Halloween Howl coming up – a spooktacular event where everyone, young and old, is encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the fun. Sign up early though, as this event sells out quickly.

As we transition out of the COVID recovery period and into this new ‘post-pandemic’ period, our community centre will continue to be a place of support, culture, and unrelenting optimism for the future. On behalf of the Association Board, I invite you to give us a call, look us up online, or drop in for a visit.

See you around the centre.
