FALSE CREEK COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

False Creek Community Association
Fall 2017 Message

As summer fades into fall and we all get back to our routines, many of us will be looking for means to overcome the stresses of everyday life. On behalf of the Association board, I want to invite you to consider the False Creek Community Centre programs and fitness centre as one solution.

You will find programs to interest everyone – from tots to seniors and everyone in between. There is a wide range of fitness and recreation activities to choose from. The Centre also offers child care programs and has rooms available to rent to meet the needs of a wide range of groups.

We are starting to hear about changes proposed by the Granville Island 2040 planning project that will affect all who make use of the Island. CMHC-Vancouver released “Granville Island 2040: Bridging Past & Future” to the public in April 2017 as a vision for the future. As well, the imminent move of the Emily Carr University of Art and Design to the False Creek Flats will leave a hole to be filled with new enterprises that will in some manner alter the character of Granville Island.

We have been part of the evolution of Granville Island into its present form and the False Creek Community Centre looks forward to being part of these exciting changes for the future.
