Join us for our annual festive buffet style pancake brunch with themed crafts, games, family entertainment and a visit from Santa. Space is limited and registration must be done in advance in-person or by phone. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The winter solstice marks the longest, darkest night of the year. This dance of sun and earth has inspired celebrations of the human spirit throughout the ages, and our own Winter Solstice Lantern Festival illuminates the night with lanterns, fire, singing, dancing, music and storytelling. Don’t be left lantern-less! Artists from the Secret Lantern Society will help you make your own beautiful lantern. All materials are provided and participants are encouraged to bring pressed leaves and flowers or other decorative elements. Price is per lantern so parent & child can create one lantern together. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
*Additional time to finish lanterns will be available on Sunday Dec. 17
from 10-4pm (free with registration to any workshop).

False Creek Community Centre is situated on beautiful Granville Island and offers several rooms available to rent for a variety of private functions.
We offer rental spaces for weddings, birthday parties, meetings, corporate events and other private functions.
Bookings for weddings, parties and other after- hour events can be made up to one year in advance.
Several dates are still available for 2017!
Requests for meetings or events during operating hours will be considered subject to Community Centre programming. Availability will vary by season.
Kitchen facilities may be available upon request and tables and chairs are included in the cost of your rental.

We have kayaking and canoeing programs to suit most levels of paddlers. Take a full Introduction to Kayaking and learn everything from how to care for equipment to how to do a solo capsize recovery! Or try a Kayak Sampler, where you'll learn some basic strokes then enjoy a recreational paddle in beautiful False Creek.
Experienced and certified paddlers can join our Kayak Club or Canoe Club. Take a boat out for up to two hours at a time (see programs here) or call the centre at 604-257-8195
